Industrial Cafe is a vibrant and well-loved café located in Smithfield NSW 2164, serving fresh and hearty dishes to the local industrial and business community.

To support our continued growth, we are currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Chef to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis.

Position Responsibilities and Tasks:

• Plan and direct food preparation, cooking, and plating in accordance with Industrial Cafe’s menu and daily specials.
• Collaborate with the owner and front-of-house staff to design menu items that reflect customer preferences and seasonal ingredients.
• Ensure all meals are prepared with consistency in taste, quality, and presentation.
• Manage stock levels, order ingredients, and ensure proper storage and rotation of food supplies.
• Maintain a clean and organised kitchen in compliance with NSW health and safety standards.
• Provide training, supervision, and mentoring to junior kitchen staff as required.
• Monitor and enforce food safety, hygiene, and cleaning procedures throughout the kitchen.
• Assist with rostering and staff scheduling where necessary.
• Recommend improvements in food preparation methods and kitchen processes to increase efficiency.
• Support café operations during peak hours by assisting with food prep, service, and closing procedures.

• Relevant qualifications.
• At least 3 years of proven experience as a Chef.
• Strong understanding of food safety standards and kitchen hygiene practices.
• Creativity in food preparation and presentation, with an eye for detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.

• Competitive Salary: $70,000 to $80,000 + plus superannuation.
