Full-time Chef position available in Wetherill Park NSW 2164.
On behalf of Volcano Steakhouse Pty Ltd a premier dining destination in Wetherill Park, offering a warm and inviting ambiance perfect for any occasion. Specialising in premium cuts of steak grilled to perfection, we are conducting a search for a dedicated and skilled Chef.
Responsibilities and Duties- Prepare and cook a wide variety of dishes according to recipes and standards set by the restaurant.
- Inspect and ensure quality of ingredients used in food preparation, including meats, vegetables and spices.
- Manage and coordinate kitchen staff, assigning tasks and overseeing their performance to maintain efficiency and quality.
- Plan menus, taking into account seasonal availability of ingredients, dietary restrictions and customer preferences.
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies to ensure sufficient stock for daily operations.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Utilise various cooking techniques and equipment to achieve desired flavours and textures in dishes.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, providing guidance on cooking techniques and food preparation procedures.
- Collaborate with management team to develop new menu items and promotional offerings, contributing to the overall success of the restaurant.
- A minimum of two years experience in a similar role.
- Attention to detail and the ability to maintain high standards of food quality and presentation
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, essential for coordinating with kitchen staff and liaising with other departments.
- Strong leadership abilities to manage kitchen operations, delegate tasks and motivate team members to achieve common goals.
- Problem-solving skills to address challenges that arise during food preparation and service, ensuring smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices to maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment, minimising the risk of foodborne illnesses
Salary: This is a full-time position with competitive remuneration between $75,000 - $90,000 p.a. plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
