Also part of House Made Hospitality are This Way Canteen and Martinez Restaurant in the Sydney CBD region, The Carrington in Surry Hills and Promenade Bondi and Easy Tiger, located in the popular Bondi Beach area.

Martinez overlooks Sydney harbour with a bright and breezy venue and a French Riviera-inspired menu. Promenade Bondi Beach is located in the old Bondi Pavilion and incorporates formal restaurant dining, an open-aired terrace, bar, cafe and beach kiosk, while the nearby Easy Tiger celebrates the vibrancy of Southeast Asian-style dining.

The newest addition to the House Made Hospitality group recently opened in November 2024. Located in the new Wunderlich Lane district in Surry Hills, the Baptist St Rec Club and Island Radio will oFer a new Asian-inspired eating-house and noodle bar, together with cocktails and entertainment options.

THE ROLE

House Made Hospitality is seeking an experienced Accountant to joint our finance team at our head office location in Circular Quay, Sydney. Reporting to the Head of Finance, the Accountant position will be responsible for managing the accounts of all venues and businesses within the group.

The Accountant for House Made Hospitality will manage group financial operations, oversee accounting policies compliance and reporting deadlines and assist with financial reporting and analysis.

As Accountant for House Made Hospitality, you will be responsible for:

• day-to-day record keeping and reconciliations;
• managing accounts payable & receivable functions;
• payroll workflow;
• financial reporting and month-end close;
• supporting cash-flow forecasting;
• preparing BAS, GST & payroll tax submissions;
• maintaining accurate financial records;
• assisting in internal & external audits;
• supporting financial process improvements;
• liaising with stakeholder on financial queries;
• general ledger maintenance;
• supporting budget preparation & monitoring; and
• ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Full-Time Salary: $75,000 - $80,000

ABOUT YOU:

To be successful in this position, you will need to have:

• appropriate tertiary qualifications in Accounting/Business/Finance;
• CA/CPA registration preferred;
• at least 2+ years experience in a similar role;
• experience with accounting work for private organisations;
• experience in the hospitality sector highly advantageous;
• proficiency in accounting software and strong Excel/computer skills;
• demonstrated knowledge of Australian accounting standards and regulations;
• confidence working with people in all levels of business;
• high attention to detail;
• exceptional time management and organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities;
• excellent communication skills;
• analytical and problem-solving skills;
• willingness to take initiative
• experience with weekly/monthly/yearly financial reporting;
• ability to work independently and as part of a team; and
• commitment to learning and growing on the job.
