Why you will love this opportunity as Senior Payroll Officer at Civica

The Senior Payroll Officer plays a key role in managing the end-to-end payroll processing for approximately 500 fortnightly EBA staff and 500 monthly employees across Civica. This cross-functional role involves ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in payroll operations while providing support to the team in process reviews and verification tasks.

As part of a global organisation, you may be required to work outside regular business hours. Your responsibilities will include processing payroll across weekly, fortnightly, and monthly pay cycles, calculating payments in accordance with Enterprise Agreements, Awards, and legislation, and maintaining accurate employee records.

You will also manage payroll working files, oversee email inbox inquiries, and provide exceptional customer service to staff and management on payroll-related matters.

Additional duties include investigating and resolving payroll queries, preparing statutory reports and payments (STP, PAYG, Payroll Tax, Workers’ Compensation, WGEA), and liaising with key stakeholders such as the ATO, Centrelink, and superannuation funds.

You will also support year-end reconciliations, audits, and payroll administration for acquisitions and restructures, while mentoring junior team members and providing payroll support across Civica ANZ entities.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a high-performing team within a leading GovTech organisation, where you will play a crucial role in delivering accurate and efficient payroll services.

We really do want you to bring your whole self to work. There is no such thing as the perfect candidate, so if you think you have what it takes, but don't necessarily meet every single point on the list, please still get in touch. We'd love to have a chat and see if you could be a great fit.
