Chargrill Charlie’s Coogee is a family business, serving since 1989 where we see everyone who is a part of it, from our regular customers to our staff, as part of our extended family. We aim to always support the people eating our food and make them feel at home.

The items on the menu are prepared from beginning by experienced Chef to the liking of our customers.

We are currently looking for an experienced Chef to work at Chargrill Charlie's located at 194-196 Coogee Bay Rd, Coogee NSW 2034. It is a full-time role and suitable candidates should have at least at least 2 years of experience in commercial kitchen.

We offer a competitive annual salary of $75,000 - $85,000 plus superannuation.

About you:
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • Experienced leading a busy kitchen team.
  • A collaborative approach with management.
  • A keen eye for the detail.
  • Excellent communicator.
  • Great time management.
  • Innovate and flexible.
  • Preferred qualification (not essential) - Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery
Major tasks include but are not limited to:
  • Ensuring quality is maintained in the production and preparation of food and monitoring the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
  • Planning restaurant menus
  • Estimating food and labour cost and order food supplies from suppliers
  • Checking and recording cool room and fridges temperature
  • Maintaining temperature according to food and safety standards
  • Maintaining stock rotation
  • Maintaining communication with the work team
  • To train new kitchen staff and apprentices
  • Complete daily tasks and operate equipment following designated safe work procedures
  • Discussing food preparation issues with the team
  • Demonstrating technique and advising on cooking procedures
  • To implement staff rosters and supervise kitchen and serving activities of cooks and assistants
  • Experiment with recipes and suggest new ingredients
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area.
  • Experience with preparation of large catering orders for corporate customers
