Head Chef

THE BAGEL CO in Rose Bay is looking for an experienced Head Chef. This is a permanent full-time position.

The Bagel Co offers a full café service for breakfast and lunch, with a focus on fresh, organic, quality ingredients and all-sustainable, eco-friendly products and materials.

As Head Chef, you will be responsible for leading and managing the kitchen team, to make sure all food at the cafe in delivered to an exceptional standard. You will be required to oversee all daily kitchen operations of the cafe and work with the Cafe Manager to ensure the highest levels of service for guests.

You responsibilities will include:

• menu planning and costing
• inventory and stock-control
• supervising, guiding and training all kitchen staff
• organising rosters and allocating tasks
• implementing and maintaining kitchen procedures
• quality control of all food preparation and presentation
• ensuring that kitchen safety and hygiene is maintained to the highest standards

Full-Time Salary: $75,000-$80,000

Requirements and Skills

To be considered for this position, you will need:

• trade qualifications
• at least 2-3 years' relevant experience in a similar role
• experience working in a similar venue
• experience leading and managing a kitchen team
• experience creating new menu items and sourcing fresh local produce
• excellent communication skills
• time management and organisational skills
• the ability to cook exceptional food
• creativity and innovation in the kitchen
• experience training and developing junior kitchen staff
• knowledge of all WHS and HACCP requirements
• a friendly and hard-working attitude
