About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled DD Specialist to lead comprehensive evaluations of potential investments, business partners, and acquisition targets. In this role, you will combine expertise in due diligence and legal analysis to identify risks, ensure compliance, and provide actionable insights that support strategic decision-making.Your work will involve analyzing financial statements, legal documents, and regulatory trends while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure thorough assessments. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in financial and legal evaluation within the financial services sector.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct Comprehensive Due Diligence: Perform detailed research and analysis of financial statements, legal documents, regulatory filings, and other relevant information related to potential acquisitions, mergers, partnerships, or investments in the CFD and broader financial services industry.
- Risk Assessment: Identify and evaluate potential risks and liabilities, including third-party risks, associated with target companies or investment opportunities. Assess the risk posed by vendors, partners, and other third parties to ensure they meet the company’s risk tolerance and compliance standards.
- Third-Party Risk Management: Analyze and monitor third-party relationships to identify any potential risks, including reputational, operational, financial, or compliance-related risks. Ensure ongoing compliance with contractual obligations and regulatory requirements.
- Industry Regulation Research: Conduct relevant research on industry regulation trends, particularly in the CFD and financial services sectors, to ensure the company remains informed and compliant with evolving regulatory environments. Provide insights on how these trends may impact due diligence processes and investment strategies.
- Report Preparation: Compile comprehensive due diligence reports summarizing findings, highlighting key risks, including third-party and regulatory risks, and providing actionable recommendations for decision-makers.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including accounting, settlement, risk, and legal departments, to gather necessary information and ensure a thorough due diligence process. Coordinate with third-party risk management teams to align due diligence activities.
- Compliance: Ensure all due diligence activities are conducted in accordance with company policies, standards, and regulatory requirements. Stay vigilant about compliance issues related to third-party engagements.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, best practices in due diligence, third-party risk management, and industry regulation research, particularly within the CFD and financial trading sectors, to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of due diligence processes.
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicate findings and recommendations clearly and effectively to senior management and other stakeholders, including any concerns related to third-party and regulatory risks.
- Ad-Hoc Duties: Handle compliance-related ad-hoc duties as requested, with a focus on due diligence, third-party risk management, and industry regulation research.
- Bachelor's degree in Law or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of two years of experience in compliance or legal roles, preferably in the financial services industry.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Chinese.
- Proven experience in due diligence, risk management, and industry research within the financial services sectors.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
