A leading manufacturer of Electrical Switchboards based in Mulgrave, VIC are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Production Engineer specializing in switchboard design and manufacturing. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in designing, optimizing, and integrating advanced switchboard systems while ensuring compliance with industry standards.This role requires a proactive individual with a passion for innovation and a deep understanding of electrical and manufacturing principles.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform maintenance of production plant and machinery to ensure optimum performance.
- Conduct regular inspections to monitor machinery efficiency and identify potential issues.
- Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure safe operation of machinery by operators.
- Acquire and apply advanced knowledge of switchboard design principles.
- Design switchboards that align with safety, efficiency, and industry standards.
- Integrate cutting-edge technologies, such as smart components and automation, into switchboard designs.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot switchboard malfunctions with precision and efficiency.
- Develop and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime and enhance performance.
- Analyze switchboard performance in various operational environments.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reliability, and energy consumption.
- Oversee quality control processes to ensure adherence to product standards.
- Actively contribute to continuous improvement projects to enhance manufacturing processes.
- Monitor and meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to support manufacturing success.
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in switchboard design, manufacturing, or a related role.
- Hands-on experience in fabrication workshops.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software.
- Strong understanding of automation systems and smart components.
- Ability to interpret and apply technical drawings and instructions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and creativity in a fast-paced environment.
- Consistently manage and meet project deadlines for efficient task execution.
- Expertise in 3D modeling is an advantage.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards (e.g., IEC, NEC) and compliance processes
- Exceptional attention to detail.
