The Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for a bright and flexible Transport Coordinator to join our team in Laverton North on a full-time permanent basis.
To excel in this role, you will need to have good knowledge of the road freight industry and a strong customer service focus.
The Position- Full-time permanent position
- Monday to Friday 8:30AM – 4:30PM
- Organising & writing consignment notes
- Arranging local, regional and interstate deliveries and run sheets
- Tracking and uploading proof of deliveries
- Recording and reconciling pallet movements
- Monitoring incoming shipping container movements and schedules
- Customer service and data entry
- Releasing forward orders
- Assisting Sales representatives and other staff with queries
- Relief in nominating shipments
- Answering sales/marketing queries and requests
- General administrative and filing duties for the Logistics department
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in transport, logistics or a related field (desirable) with verifiable training in CoR and understanding of Fatigue Management and Load Restraint.
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
- Exceptional time management and communication skills; verbal and written.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience in managing carrier/driver relationships.
- Experienced in liaising with a variety of people including customers, transport/shipping companies and across teams/functions.
- Computer literacy, including familiarity with Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-orientated environment
- Knowledgeable of Dangerous Goods/Hazardous Substances regulatory handling and storage legislation or be willing to undertake training prior to commencement in the role.
