As we continue to grow, we are looking for a passionate Chef on a full time basis to join our team and contribute their expertise, creativity, and leadership in the kitchen.
Job Description
As a Chef at Pizza E Vino, you will work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to create and execute a menu that celebrates fresh, high-quality, and seasonal produce. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone with a knowledge and passion for Italian cuisine and an eagerness to help lead the kitchen with innovation and precision.
Responsibilities include the following:- Develop and prepare innovative, high-quality menus and dishes in agreement to the management
- Supervise & train team members through all stages of kitchen operations including safe handling of equipment and techniques required for food preparation complying with HACCP.
- Manage food preparation and presentation to exceed guest expectations.
- Ensure that the customer’s dietary and nutritional needs are being met and their individual preferences are considered.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen according to health and safety standards.
- Collaborate with kitchen staffs including Managers and Front of house staffs to create an exceptional dining experience.
- Order quality ingredients and manage kitchen inventory effectively in line with estimating food and labour costs.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff to uphold professional and culinary excellence.
- Effectively communicate with the team about ideas and observations to improve work practices
- Ensure proper freezing and preservation of food maintaining minimal wastage of food items throughout the preparation process including repackaging, warming or plating.
- Proven experience as a chef, with focus on Italian Cuisine
- At least 1-2 years of experience as a chef.
- Minimum AQF Certificate IV in Kitchen Management & Diploma of Hospitality Management
- Qualification in Safe Food Handling and Preparation
- An understanding of COGS and managing kitchen budgets
- Excellent leadership, organizational, time management and communication skills
- Creativity and passion for developing unique and flavourful Italian dishes
- Menu planning, recipe analysis and pricing
- Hands-on experience in preparing and cooking high -quality Italian traditional dishes
- Staff recruiting and Scheduling
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-orientated environment
- Sound knowledge of HACCP requirements.
$70000-$80000 plus superannuation
