The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager to join our Sydney office.
Our Business Development Managers are responsible for ensuring our regional Business Development, Marketing and Communications team delivers the client growth strategy for the firm’s APAC region. This role will closely with stakeholders on a wide range of Australian and regionally based client-facing initiatives to promote, attract and convert new business opportunities with existing and new clients, working with internal stakeholders; to help the firm build its brand via targeted promotion of our service offerings.
Working collaboratively with other senior team members, you will be responsible for a portfolio of groups and will have line management responsibility for 1 – 2 direct reports.
About our APAC BD, Marketing & Communications team
You will be a valued member of Pinsent Masons’ APAC Business Development, Marketing & Communications team comprising 20 professionals based across our seven (7) Australian, Singapore and Greater China offices. We have 7 Managers (including two specialists), 5 Executives and 4 Assistants.

We offer on-the-ground training and development opportunities for all team members. Our team has a clear vision, focus and ambition for what, we as a team, are here to deliver to the firm to support its strategic growth vision.

About you

As a high performing team, we want to attract professionals who are like-minded in their goal to do great work, learn and grow professionally, have fun and be open to offering ideas and sharing their experiences and learnings with others in this role.

To be considered for the position, you will have:

  • A minimum of 6 -7 year’s professional experience
  • Relevant qualifications (i.e. commerce, business, communications, marketing)
  • Prior work experience in a professional services environment (legal, financial services)
  • Direct line management experience
  • Demonstrated ability to understand our business and deliver a broader range of business building initiatives independently
  • Excellent copywriting /editing skills, with high attention to detail
  • Strong document production skills (MS Word, Excel and Power Point)
  • Experience drafting proposals and/or other market-facing collateral
  • Event management experience
