Salary: $73,500 - $76,500 Annually + Superannuation
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and cook a variety of Indian dishes, including parathas, curries, tandoori items, and specialty regional dishes.
- Assist in designing and updating the menu, incorporating seasonal ingredients and new culinary trends while maintaining traditional flavours.
- Oversee daily kitchen activities, manage inventory, ensure proper storage of ingredients, and monitor food costs.
- Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion sizes to meet the restaurant’s high standards.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment, adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Work closely with kitchen staff, mentoring junior chefs, and fostering a positive, productive team culture.
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications & Skills- Certificate III/IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience as a Chef, preferably in an Indian restaurant or similar setting.
- Strong knowledge of Indian spices, cooking techniques, and food preparation methods.
- Excellent time management and the ability to work efficiently during busy service periods.
- Proficiency in managing kitchen operations, including inventory control and food cost management.
- Full working rights in Australia are essential.
- Passionate about food with a creative approach to cooking.
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
