Your Role

As a Chef, you will play a key role in preparing, cooking, and presenting dishes that reflect the rich and diverse flavours of Indian cuisine. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, values quality, and is passionate about food.

Location: Epping, VIC 3076

Salary: $73,500 - $76,500 Annually + Superannuation

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook a variety of Indian dishes, including parathas, curries, tandoori items, and specialty regional dishes.
  • Assist in designing and updating the menu, incorporating seasonal ingredients and new culinary trends while maintaining traditional flavours.
  • Oversee daily kitchen activities, manage inventory, ensure proper storage of ingredients, and monitor food costs.
  • Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion sizes to meet the restaurant’s high standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment, adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Work closely with kitchen staff, mentoring junior chefs, and fostering a positive, productive team culture.

What We’re Looking For

Qualifications & Skills
  • Certificate III/IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience as a Chef, preferably in an Indian restaurant or similar setting.
  • Strong knowledge of Indian spices, cooking techniques, and food preparation methods.
  • Excellent time management and the ability to work efficiently during busy service periods.
  • Proficiency in managing kitchen operations, including inventory control and food cost management.
