Working with us:

Axon Health is an established, multi-disciplinary group mental health practice. We provide high-quality Psychiatry clinics, psychological therapies, groups, assessments, clinical supervision and workshops in our lovely office in Traralgon and online via our telehealth platforms.

As we are expanding our practice, we are currently seeking a Psychologist or Accredited Mental Health Social Worker or Mental Health Occupational Therapist with clinical experience, for an exciting private practice role in our Traralgon office.

Flexible working arrangements are available including full-time and part-time hours, and the opportunity to work after hours including Saturdays, if you choose, but this will not be mandatory.

Please note that in-person work from our office will be required in this position, although our clinicians usually mix working from the office with working remotely.
About the role:
In this role, you will provide high-quality clinical mental health and counselling services. Your work will be flexible and will include evidence-based strategies to achieve outcomes identified in collaboration with your preferred clients. You will be supported to work with your ideal client group.
You could also contribute to the development and delivery of group programs or workshops (if that's your interest), conduct diagnostic and other assessments and reports, and provide clinical supervision or other clinical services depending on your skills and interests, all with the support of our Team.

We are always looking at expanding our range of service offerings and are open to developing new offerings to support our clients.

You will have the choice to be an independent contractor running your own business, delivering agreed outcomes and services or the opportunity to discuss an employment arrangement if you would prefer a different arrangement.
What you'll need to succeed:

We are looking for a capable professional who is motivated, passionate and dedicated to high-quality service provision. We value flexibility and creativity and work hard to support our clinicians in the work that they find most fulfilling and challenging.

You are a Psychologist or Mental Health Occupational Therapist registered with AHPRA or an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker registered with the AASW. We will consider applications from Social Workers or Counsellors (counsellers must hold ACA or PACFA registration).

You ideally have a strong mental health or counselling background and will demonstrate an understanding of the nature of issues and challenges faced by individuals and families in Gippsland. You may even have specialised interests or areas of practice or be willing to pursue these.

You will be able to work online via Telehealth, if needed and you will have basic digital literacy. You will maintain clinical records, meet your professional registration and professional development requirements and engage in clinical supervision.
What you'll receive in return:

You'll enjoy a stimulating, challenging and rewarding role in which you can empower our clients and their families to achieve meaningful outcomes. You will work in a comfortable, modern, fully furnished office that has space for individual, family and group services and has easy access to public transport and onsite parking.

Our office space is serene and has been thoughtfully designed with a contemporary feel, to make the most of the lovely natural outlook. Most of our spaces have outdoor opening sliding doors, with great ventilation, natural lighting and views of our gardens.
Our office has an atrium with a garden and pond in the centre of the office, which adds to a light, spacious and calm environment. We also have a well-equipped kitchen and plenty of storage. Our group room is set up for virtual, in-person and hybrid groups.

We have well-developed telehealth platforms and processes for our remote clients. We have digital practice management and records systems, making administration tasks easier. We provide great administration and practice support.

At Axon Health, we have established relationships with a range of referral sources and organisations in our busy practice. You will have the autonomy to work as you choose, as well as the support of a small team of dedicated and experienced professionals.

You will have access to work with a full range of funding bodies, as well as privately funded clients. We also have busy psychiatry clinics running regularly and the opportunity to provide multi-discipline services to our clients.

You will have the flexibility to negotiate your work hours and workload, type of work and a suitable schedule. We are responsive to suggestions for quality improvement and will value your input. We are seeking an independent contractor and our contract offers attractive terms or if you prefer, an employment arrangement with competitive remuneration may be considered, for the right candidate.

For more details contact Terri-lee Hill on 03 51609933 or email admin@axonhealth.com.au for a confidential discussion.
