Albury Community Drug and Alcohol clinician with tertiary qualification including Nursing, Social Worker, Allied Health, Psychologist, permanent part-time 3 days per week position available.

The Community Drug and Alcohol Counselling and Pharmacotherapy clinician will be a valued member of the Albury team to undertake assessment, treatment planning, counselling for individuals experiencing drug and/or alcohol related harm. We are actively seeking candidates who meet the following requirements to apply for this exceptional opportunity.
Tertiary qualification in Nursing, Social Work, Psychology or Allied Health and holding a current registration with AHPRA (where applicable) in area of practice.
Previous experience working with people who have identified drug and/or alcohol related issues and demonstrated commitment to own professional development to maintain, improve and broaden knowledge, expertise and competence within the drug and alcohol area.
Knowledge of the drug classifications, intoxication, withdrawal and medicated assisted opioid treatment.Ability to effectively use critical thinking skills to identify and solve problems in counselling and crisis interventions.
Demonstrated knowledge of conducting assessment, case planning, treatment and discharge planning.
Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team environment including the ability to communicate in a variety of different settings and circumstances.
Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills including ability to communicate clearly in a variety of different settings and circumstances, including computer literacy and electronic clinical records.
Employment Type: This is a permanent part-time position 3 days per week.

Mental Health Services at Albury Wodonga Health
AWH is an Area Mental Health and Wellbeing Service, providing mental health treatment, care and support, including delivering Alcohol and Other Drugs services. We deliver 10 specialised community-based programs, along with three acute care services and three facilities dedicated to recovery and rehabilitation.We also provide services supporting families coping with parental mental illness and facilitating connections to carer consultants.
Our Mental Health and Wellbeing teams comprise mental health clinicians with a background in nursing, occupational therapy, social work, and psychology, all of whom have experience in helping people through a range of therapies. The diversity of our service provides a range of experiences for our team and will assist you in expanding and embedding your clinical practice skills.

The Incentive program was designed by the Department of Health to support the attraction, relocation, and retention of mental health and alcohol and other drug (AOD) workers to priority positions area mental health and wellbeing services across rural and regional Victoria.
