St Helens Bar and Burgers in Kirra Beach is owned and operated by Jess and Brendan Hayes. Jess, an experienced chef leading many kitchens in Victoria, as well as restaurants in her native USA, brings to the Gold Coast a fresh version of American Bar Food with Burgers, BBQ, wings, main dishes and hand made cocktails.
We are looking for a Chef to join our team on fulltime basis.
Key responsibilities include: Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat, etc.)
Cook food using kitchen equipment (induction heaters, electric oven, etc.)Check food while cooking
Check quality of ingredients
Ensure great presentation before meals are served
Keep a clean, sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
Ensure all food and other items are stored properly according to regulatory requirements
Monitor stock
Staff training sessions and coaching staff
Estimates expected food consumption and organizes preparation
Keeps records of wastage
Open and closing kitchen procedures
Ensure kitchen morale is high
Make adjustments to menu items to accommodate guests with allergies or specific dietary concerns.

At least Certificate IV in Commercial CookeryMinimum 3 years work experience
Ability to work with a busy kitchen leading a team of cooks and kitchen hands.
