The restaurant prides itself on sourcing high-quality local ingredients and creating dishes that are both soulful and sophisticated. As we continue to grow, we are looking to expand our team with a skilled and passionate Chef who can contribute to our vision of culinary distinction.

Position: Chef
Salary: $70,000 – $80,000 plus superannuation per annum

Location: Moonee Ponds, VIC

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and curate seasonal menus in line with the restaurant’s theme and customer preferences, while estimating food and labour costs effectively.
  • Place and manage food supply orders, ensuring timely availability of quality ingredients while minimising wastage.
  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of dishes to ensure consistency in flavour, portion, and appearance at every stage.
  • Collaborate with the Restaurant Manager and kitchen staff to address any issues related to food preparation, quality, or dietary requirements.
  • Demonstrate advanced cooking techniques to the team and guide them on proper preparation, portioning, and plating methods.
  • Take charge of cooking and food preparation, particularly for signature and high-demand dishes.
  • Monitor hygiene and sanitation procedures, ensuring compliance with food safety standards and internal policies.
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in food preparation, safety, and kitchen protocols, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Assist in freezing, storing, and preserving food in accordance with storage and handling guidelines.
  • Monitor equipment performance and arrange maintenance when necessary to prevent disruptions in service.
  • Adapt menus to incorporate customer feedback, ingredient availability, or emerging culinary trends.
  • Support stock rotation and inventory management processes to ensure cost-efficiency and freshness of produce.
Experience Required: Minimum of 3 years

Qualifications: AQF associate degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in Culinary or a relevant field
