Application Support Technician (SQL/Power Platform)

A recognized and established educational institution located in Brisbane CBD is looking for an Application Support Specialist to enhance its systems and provide technical support.

Role Overview:

The Application Support Specialist will provide technical support and application management across the school's systems. The successful candidate will work with technologies such as SQL and the Power Platform Suite (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI) while assisting staff and stakeholders in resolving system issues and driving process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support for school applications and related systems.
• Administer, troubleshoot, and manage SQL databases.
• Design and manage workflows, applications, and reports using the Microsoft Power Platform Suite.
• Identify and resolve system issues, collaborating with vendors when required.
• Manage application updates, enhancements, and deployments.
• Create reports and insights using Power BI to help decision-making.
• Provide training and support to users to ensure effective use of available applications.

Skills and Experience Required:

• Experience in application support or a similar role.
• Solid knowledge of SQL for database queries and management.
• Strong ability to create workflows, apps, or reports using Microsoft Power Platform Suite (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI).
• Ability to solve problems efficiently and work collaboratively with a team.
• Clear communication and an organized approach to tasks.

Desirable Skills:

• Familiarity with ITIL frameworks.
• Experience working in educational or not-for-profit environments.
• Experience with enterprise systems or integration tools.
