Senior Financial Accountant
Location: Western Suburbs of Melbourne
Reporting to: CFO
A Western Melbourne suburbs transportation company is seeking an Accountant to join its team. This is a very exciting opportunity as this position has a fast-track trajectory to climb senior leadership within the business within a short span.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage ledgers, trial balances, and management accounts, ensuring timely month-end reports and KPI submissions.
- Oversee cash management, including GL reconciliations, year-end processing, and income tax preparation.
- Maintain and reconcile the asset register, ensuring updates are completed on schedule.
- Review payroll, PAYG, taxes, and super to ensure compliance with all deadlines.
- Handle creditors, accruals, and provisions; review and process invoices, cheques, and EFT payments.
- Monitor IT support, HR administration, and subcontractor records in collaboration with relevant departments.
- Provide ad hoc financial reports, assist with budgeting, and support operational teams as needed.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls, audits, and external reporting requirements.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage cross-departmental relationships.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Leadership abilities to guide the accounting team and support business outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Accounting or related field.
- CPA/CA Qualified
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience
- Transportation experience is a nice to have.
