What you'll do:

As a IT Manager, you will be at the forefront of our client's efforts to modernise and maintain their growing IT infrastructure. You will take on significant responsibilities, including managing all aspects of IT infrastructure, data stores, IT security and communications equipment.
Your proactive approach will be crucial in administering and managing IT security and systems while working within the financial constraints of the business. You will also support the development of annual budgets and provide vision to the management team regarding changes, risks and opportunities in enterprise technology.
Working closely with the Chief Security Officer, you will ensure that the IT infrastructure remains protected against new cyber threats.

 •  Take overall responsibility for all IT infrastructure, data stores, IT security and communications equipment
 •  Ensure full compliance with the Australian government Information Security Manual and ACSC Essential 8 as it applies to the business
 •  Proactively administer and manage IT security and systems within the financial constraints of the business
 •  Support the development of annual budgets and work within agreed financial constraints
 •  Provide vision to the management team regarding IT enterprise technology changes, risks and opportunities
 •  Work closely with the Chief Security Officer ensuring IT infrastructure continues to be protected against new cyber threats

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Senior IT Manager role will bring a wealth of experience and a strong educational background in Engineering, Telecommunications or Information Technology. You will have demonstrated your ability to manage people and technology effectively, providing clear direction on IT matters.
Your excellent communication skills will be matched by your ability to design and manage infrastructure projects. A desire to take ownership and mature the company’s IT posture is essential, as is experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Your willingness to research items outside of your core knowledge domain will be highly valued. Furthermore, you should be able to elicit cooperation from senior management and other stakeholders.

 •  Possess a Bachelor’s Degree or higher-level qualification in Engineering, Telecommunications or Information Technology
 •  Demonstrated ability to manage people, technology and provide direction on Information Technology
 •  Excellent written and verbal communications skills
 •  Ability to design and manage infrastructure projects while being hands-on
 •  Desire to take ownership and mature company’s IT posture
 •  Experience working in a team orientated, collaborative environment
 •  Willingness to research items outside of core knowledge domain
 •  Ability to elicit cooperation from senior management and other stakeholders
 •  Lead and own the planning and implementation of IT improvement project(s)
 •  Extensive experience with Windows (Desktop – Win10, WinServer, AD, O365, WSUS, SCCM, Intune) and Linux (Redhat/CentOS Server)
 •  Networking skills (Juniper Firewall and Cisco enterprise switching)
