Fraud Data Analyst

Welcome to the National Store Loss Team

Playing a critical role in the Loss Insights team, this role exists to support the strategy of Store Loss across the nation, promote risk reduction strategies. You will help identify and mitigate internal and external fraud and loss. You will find, analyse and report on data across multiple channels, partnering with multiple business units with clear and actionable information.
Work closely with Insights and Investigation Leads, as well as Police, to ensure fraud cases are investigated.

Utilising data across many platforms, you will look for new patterns of fraudulent behaviour and highlight these activities with relevant stakeholders. You will also support the creation of a national summary of losses and provide insights and recommendations on steps.
Gain an understanding of National frameworks and processes to lead customer-first and risk-mitigation initiatives.

What you’ll do

By collecting, analysing, and reporting on fraud data, the Fraud Data Analyst helps the team to identify, mitigate risk and reduce losses. An understand of fraud and the ability to pull data from the GCP platform is essential.
 •  Utilise systems such as (GCP) Google Cloud Platform, creating SQL’s and adding the data onto a Tableau dashboard.
 •  Also having access Auror, Rapid, March CCTV, Store Central & Retalix to find, highlight and present data focusing on trends and patterns of loss
 •  Translate data into factual formats with precise & accurate evidence to support investigations of loss
 •  Data mining to identify loss root causes and replicate this data at a national level
 •  Understand AI systems across the store and utilise the data outputs to predict fraud
 •  Drive collaborative initiatives, processes and systems to be successfully embedded in end-to-end incident reduction with relevant stakeholders

What you’ll bring

Reporting to our Fraud Insights Lead, this role will flourish with the following skills/experiences:

 •  3-5 years experience in an investigations/Fraud/Loss role (data-mining or Police experience desirable, also supermarket retail experience)
 •  Understanding of fraud and risk (Internal and External) from multiple perspectives
 •  Knowledge of retail systems (POS, Store Central, CCTV etc) & Rapid, Scan Assist, Auror and other fraud identification systems
 •  Extracting data using SQL & Google Suite, translating into Tableau formats
 •  Horizontal teamwork, stakeholder engagement (internal and external)
 •  Clear, accurate and factual reporting
