The Role

We are currently seeking permanent and seasonal maintenance staff in our various camps and lodges across northern WA, NT and Far North QLD. This role requires you to maintain the buildings, equipment, and fixtures, ensuring a pleasant and safe environment for all guests, visitors and employees.
You will be responsible for undertaking general repairs and maintenance as well as preventative maintenance in a manner that does not disturb guests.

Some Lodges require mechanical experience where the role is hybrid maintenance/mechanic.

Key responsibilities include:

 •  Maintain buildings, equipment, and fixtures, ensuring a pleasant and safe environment for all guests, visitors, and employees.
 •  Action repairs and maintenance according to priority
 •  Utilise the most efficient and cost-effective means to ensure maintenance requirements are met
 •  Assist with repairs, service, and maintenance of the fleet
 •  Ensure the quality of work undertaken complies with defined procedures and delivers outcomes consistent with the business plan objectives
 •  Ensure correct interpretation & compliance with relevant legislation, OST and Journey Beyond policies
 •  Negotiate with suppliers for provision of service & materials required
 •  Ensure all required data, work scheduling and purchase orders are maintained and updated into the relevant systems in a timely and accurate manner

Requirements

To be successful in this position you must have attention to detail, the ability to troubleshoot problems as they arise and have exceptional communication with strong customer skills. You must have general technical knowledge and experience and good sound knowledge of safety regulations with an understanding of relevant building codes.

The ideal candidate will have:

 •  Trade qualifications (preferred but not essential, specifically electrical, refrigeration, carpentry/building)
 •  Experience repairing and troubleshooting mechanical equipment
 •  Driver’s License (MR preferred)
 •  Previous experience working remotely
 •  Strong communication and literacy skills, be diligent coupled with a high attention to detail
 •  Forklift Operators License
 •  High level of computer proficiency, analytical reporting skills
