Banking Officer

The role

We are seeking a Banking Officer to join our Finance team based in South Melbourne on a permanent, part-time basis. This part-time position entails a 25-hour workweek from Monday to Friday, with the successful candidate required to work from 8:30 am to 1:40 pm.

As a Banking Officer, your responsibilities will include:

 •  Ensuring the completion of daily banking tasks accurately and promptly, in accordance with established policies, practices, and procedures.
 •  Reviewing and allocating unallocated amounts on a daily basis.
 •  Provide technical support to assist in the day to day processing /reversal of cash receipts
 •  Communicating with and following up on unrecognized deposits to the Business daily.
 •  Providing daily banking summaries of receipts by business units to the Group Credit Manager.
 •  Supplying daily reports on unrecognised deposits and unallocated amounts to the AR team and Group Credit Manager.
 •  Maintaining credit applications/limit reviews using existing Credit provider portal to request 3rd party credit reports and also maintain a register of all credit applications/limit reviews
 •  Ensuring Credit Applications/Limit Reviews are completed within agreed SLA’s and all Credit Application documents are completed correctly
 •  Furnishing the weekly pending credit applications report, including status updates, to the AR team and Group Credit Manager.
 •  Preparing various end of month reporting including preparation of Aged trial balance reports.
 •  Supporting Credit Analyst and Credit Controllers
 •  Maintaining customer master data records including the creation of new customers, process credit limit reviews, as well as making any required amendments to existing records
 •  File remittances in email box appropriately and properly file electronically for easy retrieval, including electronic archiving of credit applications and related documentation

About you

Along with 2 years of experience in administration and credit teams, the ideal candidate should possess:

 •  Experience in high volume payment processing, ensuring accuracy and promptness, with a general understanding and experience in Accounts Receivable functions.
 •  Effective communication skills across various functions.
 •  Strong business acumen.
 •  Professionalism and reliability in all tasks and interactions.
 •  Strong account reconciliation and some accounts receivable experience, which would also be valuable.
 •  Enjoys problem solving in a results orientated environment.
