Cruise Whitsundays is an award winning, innovative, and experienced maritime operator, based in Airlie Beach. Our experiences include day and overnight tours throughout the Whitsundays, as well as resort connection services. We are proud to offer Australia’s first underwater accommodation, Reefsuites, on The Great Barrier Reef and exclusive Reefsleep experience at Reefworld moored offshore at Hardy Reef, 40 nautical miles from Airlie Beach.

THE ROLE

We are currently seeking a passionate, motivated and energetic Cook to join the Catering team on a casual basis. This is your chance to create memorable guest experiences through supporting the Chef in leading the catering team to prepare and deliver exceptional high-quality food and assist the day-to-day kitchen operations.
In addition to guest satisfaction, this role will involve overseeing hygiene, cleanliness and general safety in food preparation areas and assist with the delivery of stores and stock control.

What will you be doing?
 •  Preparation of menu, ensuring high quality and guest satisfaction;
 •  Safe packing of food for on-water experiences;
 •  Overseeing hygiene, cleanliness and general safety of all staff working in food preparation areas;
 •  Cleaning of kitchen, storerooms and kitchenware.

THE CANDIDATE

The successful candidate will be flexible to work hours between 4:00am and 10:00pm. As the ideal candidate will have a true passion for high quality food with a real commitment to delivering the best standards of food, ensuring our guests leave with lasting memories!

To be successful in this role, you will have/be:

 •  Commercial cooking and knife skills;
 •  High self motivation and attention to detail;
 •  Proven ability to work autonomously and part of a team;
 •  Ability to work flexible hours between 4am and 10pm depending, including weekends.

Requirements
 •  Minimum 1 year in a similar position, preferably with bulk food preparation experience;
 •  Commercial Cookery qualifications will be highly regarded;
 •  QLD Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA);
 •  HLTAID011 Provide First Aid and Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.
