Position:
Riverbed is looking for a Performance Consultant to work on critical government engagements. In this role you will act as key figure for the overall Riverbed-Customer engagement, directing, guiding and mentoring the consulting team and collaborating with key customer stakeholders to ensure alignment with both Riverbed service delivery methodology and solution best-practices.
This role requires the successful candidate to be able to gain NV2 clearance (having this clearance already is desireable) and experience with Network Performance Management tools. This position is based in Canberra.
What you will do:
• Drive IT projects forward in large organizations and translate technical features into tangible customer business benefits & values through a complete technical solution.
• Earn a Trusted advisor status with customers and provide a vision around performance management maturity and best practices
• Champion the business value of IT Performance Management, security through visibility, and business outcomes
• Drive Customer’s performance management skills enablement and document best practices and SOP’s
• Architectural, design & change recommendations provided to application managers & support teams
• Ability to form and create successful ongoing relationships and collaboration across internal Riverbed teams, partner community and customer teams
• Identifying ongoing service improvements, implementation of best practice procedures and collaboration initiatives with customer and partners.
• Lead the business to technology mapping activities for the onboarding of critical business applications and services
• Design and implementation of applicable metrics reporting and dashboard views for all key customer stakeholder groups including both Executive and Operational audiences
• Manage communications of a technical nature to all stakeholders (customers, partners, approved subcontractors and account managers)
• Collaboration with Project and Service Delivery Manager to overlay technology impact on key business metrics and develop agreed KPIs to measure service performance
• Create reporting demonstrating the business value that Customer achieves from their investment in Riverbed solutions.
What makes you an ideal candidate:
• Bachelor of Science, Network Engineering/Design or equivalent experience is preferred
• Several years experience in a technical consulting/professional services role (or equivalent)
• Strong technical problem-solving abilities with demonstrated capability to learn quickly
• Overall understanding of IT Systems and IT infrastructure and the associated impact on Applications Performance
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP and network design, protocols, network components & networks operations at a CCIE level
• Strong knowledge of web application architecture and software including Web Servers (Apache, IIS), J2EE Application Servers (Websphere, Weblogic), Databases (Oracle, SQL Server, DB2) and/or Operating Systems (UNIX, Windows)
• Good Knowledge & experience of Cloud concepts and migrations an advantage
• A solid understanding of multi-tier application architecture
• Virtualization experience with VMware systems and software; Installation and configuration experience with ESX, VMFS & storage sub-systems
• Experience with packet traces, protocol analyzers and generic utilities (tcpdump, Wireshark, NetFlow, Packet analysis)/
• Knowledge of Python and/or other scripting languages (ruby, perl, RESTful APIs, VB) is a plus
