The Role:

We are looking for a driven and results oriented Area Sales Manager to lead the WA Sales Region by delivering WOW service and increase sales.

The successful candidate will develop and implement successful marketing, sales, distribution and order fulfilment strategies. Sales excellence will be used to create a clear unique value proposition by market segment to retain existing customers and develop new accounts.

The candidate will support allocated major customer accounts and drive the growth of Safe Direction guardrail safety barrier products to the public road network, car parks and warehouses.

This is an exciting role to work independently with full support and technical assistance.

Responsibilities:

 •  Work closely with installation contractors, asset owners and specifiers to present, promote, educate, and sell Safe Direction products.
 •  Develop and implement successful marketing, sales, distribution, and order fulfilment strategies.
 •  Create unique value proposition by market segment.
 •  Develop new accounts within new and existing markets.
 •  Support key major accounts.
 •  Oversee distribution of product from Canning Vale distribution facility
 •  Update and maintain CRM.
 •  Project tracking
 •  Visibly leading the change in safety culture by modelling safe behaviour internally and with customers; engaging people to work safely and productively and holding them accountable to standards.
 •  Enable market development, share growth and diversification through understanding of the competition, potential markets, customers and an accurate assessment of current services.
 •  Ensuring compliance to the range of Safe Direction and Government Acts, Regulations and codes of practice, (including Community requirements, trade practices), by regular audits of current performance, effective planning for improvement and accurate reporting.
 •  Contribute as an active member of the business by generating ideas and opportunities for the business, identifying risks and helping resolve business issues and problems.

Requirements

Business degree or qualification (beneficial)
 •  Engineering qualification (beneficial)
 •  Business to Business industrial sales experience
 •  Road safety barrier industry experience (beneficial)
 •  Major account management
 •  Contract management and administration
 •  Proficient in understanding and managing role responsibilities to optimise P&L and Balance Sheet outcomes in context with Budget Plan and Strategic Goals
 •  Estimating including reading and interpreting plans to perform material take-offs.
 •  Spreadsheet analytical competency
 •  Managing People and developing accountability
 •  Competent and professional presentation style
 •  Effective internal and external communication skills
 •  Team orientation
 •  Enjoys the opportunity to mentor and coach

The Ideal Candidate will have:

 •  A high degree of enthusiasm and motivation to drive growth in sales to existing customers and to win new business.
 •  Strong communication skills, and the ability to present concepts to specifiers.
 •  Commercial acumen and experience with selling in a commercial environment. Ideally, exposure to the civil construction industry.
 •  The ability to secure specification for both minor and large volume projects.
 •  Strong communication skills with external and internal stakeholders
 •  A continuity of excellent professional presentation, customer service skills, and uphold a positive reputation.
 •  Experience with reading plans and ability to undertake take-offs
 •  Excellent organization, interpersonal and presentation skills
 •  Proficiency in applicable IT including MS Office
