Senior Accountant (Perth, Australia) with US GAAP Expertise

Position Overview:
We seek a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant with a deep understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to join our team in Perth, Australia. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a critical role in overseeing our financial operations and ensuring compliance with US GAAP standards.
Your expertise in US GAAP reporting and comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles will be instrumental in supporting the organization's financial growth and success.

Responsibilities:

  1.  Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with US GAAP standards.
  2.  Compliance: Ensure compliance with US GAAP regulations, accounting principles, and relevant statutory requirements.
  3.  US GAAP Expertise: Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of US GAAP principles and provide guidance on complex accounting issues to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  4.  Audit Support: Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate successful audits and address any accounting-related queries or issues.
  5.  Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, enhance financial controls, and implement best practices to optimize efficiency and accuracy.
  6.  Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis and provide insights and recommendations to management to support strategic decision-making and drive business growth.
  7.  Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of annual budgets, financial forecasts, and variance analysis to monitor financial performance and identify areas for improvement.
  8.  Team Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, tax, legal, and operations, to ensure alignment and accuracy of financial data and reporting.
  9.  Training and Mentoring: Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to junior accounting staff, fostering their professional growth and development.
 10.  Stay Updated: Keep abreast of changes in US GAAP regulations, accounting standards, and industry trends, and proactively implement necessary updates to ensure compliance.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  1.  Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CA (Chartered Accountant) are highly desirable.
  2.  Minimum of [X] years of experience in accounting or finance roles, focusing on US GAAP reporting and compliance.
  3.  Strong knowledge of US GAAP principles and their practical application in financial reporting and analysis.
  4.  Experience in a senior-level accounting role, demonstrating a track record of successfully handling complex accounting matters.
  5.  Proficiency in accounting software and financial management systems.
  6.  Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
  7.  Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
  8.  Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  9.  Experience in training and mentoring junior accounting staff is preferred.
 10.  Knowledge of Australian accounting standards (IFRS) is a plus.
