Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for a highly qualified Environmental Practice Leader to lead our expansion in Queensland, leveraging our NSW and Victoria established practices in environmental auditing, land contamination assessment, hazardous ground gas management, remediation, human health risk assessments, water resources, sustainability, and litigation support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 •  Encompass the Geosyntec “Sell-Manage-Do” philosophy;
 •  Engage with and win work from new clients (as well as repeat business from existing clients);
 •  Direct/manage all aspects of projects;
 •  Perform high quality technical work;
 •  Project management duties are expected to be a small component of the position; however, project direction duties are critical to success in the position; and
 •  The direction of growth of operations will be driven by the successful candidate.

Collaboration and mentoring are cornerstones of Geosyntec’s culture. The expectation is that you will build and lead the Queensland practice, collaborating with our other Australian leaders and mentoring and developing less experienced staff.

Education and Licensure:

 •  Bachelor's Degree in engineering, geology, environmental science or a related field (required)
 •  Postgraduate qualifications (preferred)
 •  Contaminated Site Auditor accreditation (preferred)
 •  CEnvP certification (required)
 •  RPEng certification (valuable)

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

 •  Minimum 10 years (15 years preferred) of environmental consulting experience in contaminated land; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
 •  Knowledge of State and National contaminated land guidance and regulations. (required)
 •  Demonstrated success in the development and management of client relationships. (required)
 •  Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams. (required)
 •  Experience in contaminated land auditing. (preferred)
 •  Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. (required)
 •  Valid QLD driver’s licence and satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
 •  Ability to work for any Australian employer required. Visa/Work Permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
