Our client is in search of an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join their expanding Engineering team. This position presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of intricate solutions within the realm of cyber security.
The chosen candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality technical support to end users at tier 2 and 3 levels. They will be involved in a wide range of engineering tasks and projects, such as assisting in the implementation of complex technical initiatives, conducting thorough investigations into root causes of issues, and identifying areas for improvement in process management.

What you'll do:

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will play an integral role within our client's Engineering team. You will be responsible for developing conceptual solutions for customer problems, designing, developing, and managing systems infrastructure that supports both development and operations teams.
Your role will also involve deploying products in the field while providing timely support to end-users. You will have the opportunity to participate in system design consulting, platform management, capacity planning, as well as gathering metrics from operating systems to assist in performance tuning.

 •  Develop conceptual solutions for customer problems and demonstrate technology
 •  Design, develop and manage systems infrastructure supporting development and operations teams
 •  Manage and support on-premises and other infrastructure using VMs and Containers, including monitoring availability and taking a holistic view of system health
 •  Involve in product and software development, suggesting product improvements as you work closely with end users
 •  Deploy and support products in the field, providing timely and accurate support and instruction to end-users and new starters
 •  Produce documentation to capture and communicate installation, shakeout and support processes
 •  Provide technical assistance to the engineering teams when troubleshooting issues
 •  Participate in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning
 •  Gather and analyse metrics from operating systems as well as applications to assist in performance tuning and fault finding
 •  Partner with software development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Senior DevOps Engineer role will bring a wealth of experience in Engineering, Telecommunications or Information Technology. You will have a proven ability to solve problems quickly and completely, coupled with excellent written and spoken communication skills that support a collaborative working environment.
Your proactive approach to identifying problems, performance bottlenecks, and areas for improvement will be highly valued. Additionally, your programming skills using high-level languages such as Python, Java, C#, Ruby, JavaScript will be essential in this role.

 •  Bachelor’s Degree or higher-level qualification in Engineering, Telecommunications or Information Technology
 •  Ability to solve problems quickly and completely
 •  Excellent written and spoken communication supporting collaborative working environment
 •  Proactive approach to identifying problems, performance bottlenecks, and areas for improvement
 •  Ability to program (structured and OOP) using one or more high-level languages such as Python, Java, C#, Ruby, JavaScript
 •  Familiarity with containerised environment including RedHat Open Shift, Kubernetes etc.
 •  Familiarity with working practices such as test-driven development, continuous integration, and continuous delivery
