About the Roles
We are currently seeking Field Assistants to join the Electric Ants Eradication Program, commencing immediately the role is casual and based out of Mossman North Queensland.
Working Monday to Friday, with potential for overtime, you will survey different areas and terrains
Your role will include, but not be limited to-
Conducting field duties for most of each working day that involves:
• Working in various geographical locations, settings, and terrains (e.g., Parkland, bushland, swampland, cane fields, residential, rural, flat to steep sloping and/or uneven ground and public infrastructure).
• Walking considerable distances (Up to approximately 15 kilometres a day).
• Being exposed to the various outdoor temperature ranges and climatic conditions experienced in Far North Queensland.
• Average of 30 to 60 minutes vehicle travel to and from worksite in company vehicle.
• Transferring between Surveillance and Treatment teams as required.
• Baiting will be required in this role.
• Resident liaison (door knocking, telephone calls)
• Paperwork
Key capabilities
• Experience in intensive outdoor labouring, and/or tropical rainforest field work
• Customer focus - Communicates effectively with internal and external clients to provide responsive, accurate and relevant information and services
• Interpersonal Savvy - Works effectively in a team environment and exercises tact, diplomacy and discretion when required
• Action Oriented - Uses initiative to respond to challenges in a pressured and changing environment
• MUST have the ability to work through varied conditions for lengthy periods of time
• MUST have a current valid QLD C' class (manual) drivers licence
• MUST have a current CPR & First Aid certificate
• MUST be able to pass a Urine Drug screen
• MUST be able to pass a National Police History Check
• MUST be able to work Monday through to Friday.
