About the role:

We are seeking a senior executive to lead and execute a top-tier, inclusive sustainability strategy that aligns with CDC's strategic business objectives and commitments. This role involves implementing sustainability initiatives across the business, collaborating with the Board, CEO, and Senior Leadership Team, and embedding sustainability into the organisational culture and financial performance.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Develop and execute a world-class, inclusive sustainability strategy aligned with business objectives, delivering on commitments, metrics, and targets.
  • Further embed sustainability into organizational culture, link it to financial performance, and use data-driven approaches to monitor key metrics such as carbon emissions, energy use, waste, water, and diversity.
  • Work with the Board, CEO, senior leadership, and business partners to integrate sustainability metrics into strategic and operational plans, driving ESG initiatives across product development, supply chain, financing, and operations.
  • Ensure sustainability outcomes are optimized during design, construction, and commissioning phases, and manage ongoing ESG activities like research, innovation, due diligence, and transition planning.
  • Lead ESG reporting and compliance with frameworks like SBTi, GRESB, NGER, TCFD, ASRS, and manage reporting for investors, customers, and lenders.
  • Represent CDC in ESG matters with stakeholders, participate in industry working groups, and stay ahead of ESG trends, legislation, and policy opportunities.

About you:

This role would be suitable for candidates with extensive experience in Sustainability/ ESG based roles within large infrastructure, corporate, or Tier 1 consultancy environments. Ideal candidates will have a proven track record in driving and executing sustainability strategies, goals, and metrics, particularly within technology or infrastructure sectors.

  • Proven ability to achieve strong outcomes against sustainability benchmarks such as GRESB, SBTi, and TCFD, with a track record of meeting climate-related metrics and targets.
  • Exceptional written and interpersonal presentation skills, with experience engaging at executive and board levels and representing the company to stakeholders, including investors, regulators, and the community.
  • Expertise in leveraging data and insights for sustainability initiatives, including audit and assurance processes, with a strong understanding of issues relevant to data centres and the tech industry.
  • Demonstrated business acumen with a results-oriented approach, capable of operating strategically while remaining hands-on when needed.

Essential:

Australian Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a NV1 Security Clearance.
