The Role
We are looking for an exceptional Mechatronics Engineer to join our fast-growing team. As a Mechatronics Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design, development, test and industrialisation of next generation Calumino Thermal Sensors.Your expertise will contribute to creating innovative and high-quality products that meet market demands and exceed customer expectations.
Annual Base Salary$74,000 - $80,000 per year
Responsibilities- Report to Head of Product Development.
- Product Design and Development: Lead the electro-opto-mechanical design and development of CTS sensors, including electro-opto-mechanical integration of various components, thermal management systems, customer integration solutions.
- Thermal and Structural Analysis: Conduct thermal and structural simulations and analysis using tools like FEA and CFD to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and durability of the product under varying conditions.
- Prototyping and Testing: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build and test prototypes of new designs. Analyse test data and make design adjustments to enhance product performance and user experience.
- Manufacturing Support: Work closely with manufacturing partners to ensure the successful integration into mass production. Optimise designs for manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
- Design Verification and Validation: Develop and implement test plans to verify and validate against product specifications and industry standards. Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
- Documentation and Communication: Maintain comprehensive documentation of design iterations, review outcomes, DFM records, test results, and project progress. Effectively communicate design concepts and updates to stakeholders.
- Quality Assurance: Implement robust quality control measures to ensure that finished products meet Calumino’s high-quality standards and customer expectations.
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Mechatronics Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in electro-opto-mechanical device design and development, preferably in the consumer electronics or industrial sensors industry.
- Proficiency in design software, specifically SolidWorks, for 3D modelling and 2D drawings and Altium for electrical designs
- Knowledge of simulation and analysis tools such as Solidworks Simulations, Ansys, COMSOL, Zemax are preferred
- Familiarity with large scale manufacturing processes like SMT, nano injection moulding, SLA, AA and automated assembly
- Knowledge in advanced manufacturing processes such as wafer scale manufacturing, precision bonding, optical glass moulding and SPDT are advantageous.
- Experience in high precision optical product/system design, tolerance analysis and statistical process control knowledge are advantageous
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Fluent verbal and written English and comfortable with technical terms.
