About the role:

We are seeking a Senior Manager, Energy Partnerships & Procurement to lead and manage our energy procurement strategies, foster key commercial relationships, and drive strategic initiatives to meet CDC’s energy needs and sustainability goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Energy Supply Management: Oversee and improve CDC’s existing retail electricity supply agreements, ensuring cost-effectiveness and reliability.
  • Strategic Energy Procurement: Lead the establishment of progressive purchasing agreements, power purchase agreements (PPAs), and risk management strategies.
  • ESG Initiatives: Coordinate green offset programs across all regions and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with ESG targets.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with internal teams (Development, Operations, Strategy) and external energy partners to ensure smooth energy procurement operations.
  • Contract Negotiations: Negotiate and manage power supply contracts to support CDC’s expansion, including establishing agreements for new locations and load growth projections.
  • Financial Oversight: Oversee the Energy Trading databases, ensuring adherence to risk management guidelines.
  • Leadership: Provide operational leadership, contribute to the development of business cases for energy investments.

About you:

You are a hands-on strategic thinker with a passion for driving energy optimization efforts. Your ability to build strong relationships across teams and with external partners is key to your success. You are motivated by making a meaningful impact and thrive in roles that drive change and support long-term business goals.

Ideal candidates will have experience in building and maintaining commercial relationships for the acquisition of reliable, cost-effective electricity supply for large energy or infrastructure sectors.

  • Proven track record in senior commercial roles within the Australian/New Zealand energy sector.
  • Highly developed commercial acumen and negotiation skills on key projects and contracts
  • Expertise in energy market trends, procurement strategies, and ESG compliance.
  • Experience managing multiple priorities and meeting conflicting deadlines in a dynamic environment.

Essential:

Australian Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a NV1 Security Clearance.
