• Organising and supervising inspection and maintenance of POTAIN self-erecting cranes and tower cranes
• Ensuring that the installation of self-erecting cranes and tower cranes meet the engineering designs and finished works are within specifications, regulations, and contract provisions.
• Assembling and installing of brand new self-erecting cranes and tower cranes, incl. its mechanical components, crane controls and hydraulic power systems.
• Diagnostics and Troubleshooting of Equipment malfunctions and co-ordination of repairs.
• Assisting Mechanical Engineers and Structural Engineers in the data collection to assess the self-erecting cranes and tower cranes to comply with the major inspection certificates as outlined in the manufacturer’s specifications.
• Reviewing drawings, plans and designs for mechanical engineering work under the direction of Mechanical Engineers and Engineering Technologists
• Estimating material costs, quantities, and machine requirements whilst undergoing major inspections and or full crane component refurbishments.

Qualifications / List of Skills:

General:

• Being self-motivated, reliable and performing a good work ethic and taking pride in your work.
• Being able to work within a team environment
• Proven track record in diagnostics and repairs of equipment
• Ability to Communicate in an excellent and professional manner
• Able to Communicate fluently in English

Experience:

• Proven Record in the Repairs / Maintenance of heavy plant and lifting equipment (in particular, POTAIN Self Erecting Cranes and Tower Cranes)
• Supervision of the refurbishment of Heavy Plant and Equipment.
• Experience in the POTAIN, COMEDIL Crane Range

Education:

• Tertiary Engineering Degree
