Cargo Bar & Eatery, established in 2013, is located in Docklands with beautiful views of the waterfront and the Bolte Bridge. Cargo offers a great casual dining experience and we are always looking for new and innovative ways to deliver food and beverages that excite our team and delight our guests.
Pay: $65,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year

We are currently looking for an energetic and motivated Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our amazing hospitality team. Part Time & Full Time hours are available.As the Assistant Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for leading and engaging with your team whilst demonstrating an excellent customer focus, committed to creating a great experience for all at Cargo.
You will be someone who thrives in a busy venue while demonstrating:

- Excellent communication skills.
- Dining experience in a similar setting - Casual Dining
- A ‘can do’ attitude with the ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team
- Calm and caring leadership style who understands the importance of a positive team culture.
- Passion for food, beer and people.
- A minimum of one year experience as an Assistant Manager or Supervisor
- Experience using Seven Rooms ideal but not essential
- Computer literacy / proficiency
More specifically, your duties will include but are not limited to:
- Along with the Restaurant Manager, overseeing the daily operations of the venue - including opening, closing and everything in between.
- Daily cash handling and reconciliation
- End to end management of the hospitality team – hiring, training and development along with rostering.
- Communicating effectively with management and the team to ensure a seamless and memorable guest experience.
- Liaise regularly with the Head Chef, Restaurant Manager & General Manager about daily operations, upcoming bookings and events.
- Achieve financial goals/budgets, wages and cost of goods control.
- Oversee social media platforms.
- Implement and abide by health and safety protocols.
