Deccan Flavour is a popular Indian restaurant in Redfern, NSW, known for its rich culinary heritage and authentic South Indian and Hyderabadi cuisine. We are passionate about delivering flavorful, high-quality meals and are looking for a talented full time Chef to lead and innovate in our kitchen.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and develop menu items with a focus on traditional and modern Indian cuisine.
• Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff and food preparation activities.
• Ensure the consistent quality and presentation of all dishes.
• Oversee food inventory, ordering, and cost control.
• Maintain kitchen hygiene and food safety standards in accordance with regulations.
• Train and mentor kitchen staff to ensure performance and consistency.
• Introduce new dishes and seasonal specials to enhance customer experience.
• Manage kitchen operations efficiently during service times.
• Monitor portion sizes and waste control to maintain profitability.

Requirements:

• Relevant Qualification
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Chef, preferably in an Indian restaurant.
• Proficiency in Indian cooking techniques and deep understanding of spices and ingredients.
• Strong leadership and time management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Salary: $70,000 – $80,000 per annum (plus superannuation)
