Your tasks and responsibilities
A an Assistant Accountant, your role will be pivotal in maintaining the financial health of the organisation. You will be responsible for performing technical accounting tasks including bank reconciliation, payment and cash processing, treasury management, and credit control functions.Your ability to manage complex bordereaux reconciliations will be crucial in ensuring accurate financial records. Additionally, you will play an integral role in responding to audit inquiries and assisting with the year-end audit process.
- Perform inwards cash processing and reconciliations
- Prepare general ledger account reconciliations
- Complete periodic stamp duty and fire services levy returns
- Conduct debtors analysis and reporting
- Manage payments processing
- Handle bordereaux reconciliations, some of which are quite large and complex
- Carry out weekly bank reconciliations
- Oversee treasury, cash and bank account management
- Assist with credit control in conjunction with the business units
- Respond to audit inquiries and assist with the year-end audit process
Your profile and experience
Your proficiency in software use, particularly MS Office Suite, will enable you to perform your duties efficiently. Your experience in preparing general ledger account reconciliations will ensure accuracy in financial reporting. Your problem-solving abilities will be crucial in addressing any issues that may arise during your work.Your ability to set and meet deadlines will contribute to the smooth running of operations.
- Experience in an insurance or related environment
- Credit control experience desirable
- Proficiency in software use, particularly MS Office Suite
- Experience preparing general ledger account reconciliations
