They are seeking a Senior Tax Accountant with a deep understanding of Australian taxation and the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) rulings. Your tasks and responsibilities
As a Senior Tax Accountant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our client's adherence to ATO’s rulings while maintaining the highest standards of financial compliance. You will be responsible for monitoring financial transactions, preparing tax returns, developing compliance policies, conducting training sessions, identifying potential risks, managing audits, providing expert advice, staying updated with tax law changes, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
- Ensure all financial practices comply with ATO rulings and relevant legislation
- Monitor and audit financial transactions to ensure adherence to tax laws and company policies
- Prepare and submit accurate tax returns and documentation to regulatory authorities
- Develop, update, and implement compliance policies and procedures
- Conduct regular training sessions for the finance team on compliance and regulatory changes
- Identify potential compliance risks and implement strategies to mitigate them
- Conduct regular internal audits and manage external audit processes
- Provide expert advice on tax-related matters to senior management and other departments
- Stay updated with changes in tax laws and regulations and communicate these changes effectively to the team
- Inspire and mentor the finance team to maintain high standards of accuracy and ethical conduct
Your profile and experience
The ideal candidate for this Senior Tax Accountant position will bring extensive knowledge of ATO rulings and Australian tax laws. You should have proven experience in a compliance or tax advisory role. Your strong analytically skills will enable you to identify potential risks and implement mitigation strategies.our leadership abilities will inspire your team to maintain high standards of accuracy and ethical conduct.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CA certification preferred
- Extensive knowledge of ATO rulings and Australian tax laws
- Proven experience in a compliance or tax advisory role
- Strong analytically and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in using accounting and compliance software
