Situated in the vibrant suburb of Carina, QLD, Bollywood Bar is a lively celebration of the dazzling world of Hindi cinema. Our venue captures the essence of Bollywood through colourful décor, iconic film posters, and distinctive auto-rickshaw–inspired seating.

Our menu reflects the richness and diversity of Indian cuisine, featuring Mumbai Street food staples such as Vada Pav and Dahi Puri, timeless favourites including Chicken Tikka Masala and Butter Chicken, as well as popular Indo-Chinese fusion dishes like Hakka Noodles and Manchurian.

Position: Chef

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop inventive menus that showcase our blend of traditional and fusion cuisines, while effectively managing food and labour costs.
  • Maintain exceptional standards of quality by overseeing food preparation and presentation at every stage.
  • Work closely with management and dietary specialists to refine culinary procedures and ensure smooth communication between kitchen and front-of-house teams.
  • Demonstrate cooking techniques and guide kitchen staff, ensuring consistency with our signature flavours.
  • Lead the preparation and cooking of diverse menu offerings, delivering authenticity and flair with each dish.
  • Enforce strict hygiene, health, and safety practices throughout the kitchen.
  • Assist in the recruitment and training of new kitchen staff, contributing to a cohesive and skilled team.
  • Manage food preservation techniques, including freezing and other methods, to maintain ingredient quality and support our sustainability efforts.
  • Create and introduce new dishes that align with our Bollywood themes and enhance customer experience.
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Chef.
  • AQF associate degree, Advanced Diploma, or Diploma in Culinary Arts or a relevant field.
Personal Attributes:
  • A passion for food, creativity, and blending traditional and modern culinary styles.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse kitchen team.
  • Excellent attention to detail and dedication to delivering premium dining experiences.
  • Adaptable, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Work Hours: Full-time, approximately 38 hours per week.

Salary: Competitive annual salary of $75,000–$85,000 plus superannuation, based on skills and experience.
