We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Equipment Hire Manager to oversee the management of scaffold inventory and coordinate the logistics of deliveries and pick-ups. This is a hands-on role requiring strong organizational and leadership abilities, with a focus on maintaining operational efficiency, accuracy, and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management:
  • Oversee scaffold inventory, and ensure materials are properly stored and maintained;
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate replenishment as needed to meet operational requirements using existing and new suppliers;
  • Order Coordination:
  • Supervise the packing and preparation of orders for delivery, ensuring materials are correctly selected and prepared;
  • Implement processes to optimise packing efficiency and minimise errors;
  • Supervise and work closely with team members to maintain a smooth workflow in the packing and preparation areas;
  • Logistical Operations:
  • Plan and coordinate delivery and pick-up schedules in collaboration with the office team;
  • Ensure timely and accurate dispatch of orders to meet customer deadlines;
  • Team Leadership:
  • Lead and support staff involved in inventory, packing and logistics operations;
  • Provide training and guidance to team members to ensure adherence to company standards;
  • Health and Safety Compliance:
  • Ensure all operations comply with health and safety regulations;
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify and mitigate potential risks;
  • Promote a safety-first culture among staff and contractors;
  • Other Responsibilities:
  • Ensure vehicle fleet is regularly serviced and maintained;
  • Manage minor scaffold installations as needed;

Qualifications and Experience:

Must have at least a relevant Diploma level qualification or equivalent experience. Minimum 3 years.

Skills:

  • Proven experience in equipment hires, inventory management, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Excellent leadership and communication abilities.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in relation to equipment handling and logistics.
  • Driver’s license and forklift license are essential.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for managing staff and fostering a collaborative environment.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily yard-based with frequent deliveries and pick-ups in a ute or small truck across Sydney.
  • Flexibility to work outside standard hours when necessary; overtime is a regular occurrence.
Location: 175 Fourteenth, Austral NSW 2179
Salary: $89,000 AUD annually plus superannuation
