POSITION OVERVIEW:
Jatt & Kayani is seeking a dedicated and experienced Accountant to oversee and manage all financial operations for its hospitality and retail divisions. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and strategic financial planning to support business growth.
This position requires a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with department heads to drive financial performance and cost-effective decision-making.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial Operations Management:
Supervise and manage all financial functions, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for both hospitality and retail divisions.
Ensure that financial statements are accurately prepared and that all records comply with accounting standards and company policies.
Reconciliations and Auditing: Conduct regular financial reconciliations and audits to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
Monitor and evaluate financial discrepancies and implement corrective measures when necessary.Collaboration with Department Heads:
Work closely with department heads to manage financial resources, review contracts, and ensure cost-effective business decisions.
Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business objectives and strategic planning.
Payroll Management: Oversee the payroll processing to ensure timely and accurate payment of wages to employees and service providers.
Ensure all statutory payroll obligations are met, including superannuation, tax, and other deductions.Financial Compliance:
Ensure compliance with all relevant financial reporting and regulatory requirements, particularly those specific to the hospitality and retail industries.
Stay updated on accounting regulations and standards, and implement changes where necessary.
Financial Planning and Analysis: Support business growth through financial planning, analysis, and strategic development.
Analyze financial performance and provide insights into improving profitability, reducing costs, and optimizing resource allocation.
Contract and Vendor Management: Review and manage contracts with vendors and service providers, ensuring compliance with financial terms and conditions.
Negotiate financial terms to secure favorable agreements for the business.
REQUIREMENTS: Australian Citizens and permanent Residents are encouraged to apply.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.At least 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the hospitality or retail sectors.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
Strong financial analysis and reporting skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
Ability to maintain accuracy in financial reporting, reconciliations, and auditing.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments.
Familiarity with financial regulations, payroll requirements, and tax laws specific to the hospitality and retail industries.
