Utilise your engineering and technical experience to make a real difference

An exciting opportunity for you to work on projects which support Cook Medical’s electromedical devices in the market. You will be responsible for diagnosing software/firmware, hardware and networking issues, proposing solutions, verification and validation of design changes and transferring design changes to manufacture.

Reporting to the Team Leader – Post Market Engineering, you will bring these skills and your design control background to a collaborative, high performing team who are constantly looking at ways to evolve and improve the way we work.

Responsibilities:

  • Technical assessment of supplier changes to components and implementation of design changes to enable continued supply of product to market.
  • Testing activities including development of test protocols, liaison with external test facilities, analysis and reporting of test results.
  • Review of product performance and safety, including root cause analysis and design solutions to resolve any identified problems.
  • Effective communication of technical analyses and risk assessments to cross-functional stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering or equivalent.
  • Knowledge and experience in the application of design controls for medical devices.
  • Knowledge and Experience in the application of risk management techniques.
  • Highly developed technical writing skills and attention for detail.

Preferred candidates shall also have demonstrated experience in the following:

  • Medical device manufacturing environment or other highly regulated industry.
  • Application of and compliance to the medical electrical device standard (IEC 60601-1) or similar product standards.
  • Circuit capture and printed circuit board (PCB) layout using Altium Designer.
  • Embedded control and programming in C.
  • Design of software for Ethernet connected devices (TCP/IP).
