Context:
The Opportunity:As a Telecommunications Engineer, you will play a key role in the design, development, implementation, and optimization of telecommunications systems for the rail industry. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure that communication systems meet the operational, safety, and regulatory requirements of rail infrastructure projects.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of state-of-the-art telecommunications solutions in the rail sector, supporting the delivery of major rail projects in Brisbane and across Australia.
Missions/Main Duties:
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement telecommunications systems, including but not limited to radio, fibre optics, communication networks, and signalling systems for rail projects.
- Support the delivery of telecommunications components within rail projects, ensuring compliance with safety standards, technical specifications, and project timelines.
- Work closely with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver integrated telecommunications solutions for rail networks.
- Perform system integration, testing, and troubleshooting for telecommunications systems to ensure they operate efficiently and meet operational needs.
- Ensure all design, installation, and maintenance activities comply with local and international standards, and maintain accurate records, documentation, and reports.
Profile/Skills:
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in telecommunications engineering, preferably within the rail or transport sector.
- Knowledge of railway telecommunications systems.
- Knowledge of vendor equipment deployed in 2G, 4G or 5G networks.
- Experience in designing or maintaining telecommunications systems.
- Experience in technical writing of Engineering change requests and/or reports.
