Queensland 2019-2029 is the Queensland Government's 10 year strategy to further enrich the Queensland way of life, harnessing the pride of our great sporting traditions, embracing our iconic natural environment and building on our strong community foundations to deliver better health and wellbeing outcomes, especially for those most vulnerable.
Through Accelerate 2022-2025, the second action plan under Activate! Queensland, the department will provide targeted and deliberate action and investment to enrich the Queensland way of life through physical activity, driving increased participation and pathway opportunities while positioning the state for success in the lead up to the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Our team - Precincts and Venues
Our contribution:Precincts and Venues oversee the operations, business improvement, maintenance/capital works, leasing and service delivery of Sport and Recreation Precincts and Venues that deliver healthy and active opportunities to Queenslanders such as outdoor recreation and sport programs, functions and events at regionally significant venues across Queensland.
The Venues and Precincts include stadiums, accommodation and catered facilities, function rooms, sporting fields and leisure centres, in addition four of the Venues offer serviced office space and support for over 40 industry organisations.
The owned and operated Venues and Precincts are located in Townsville, Toowoomba, Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, and Brisbane city with over 50 employees and 80 contract staff across a range of specialised roles and skills, with the two major Venues in the portfolio being the Gold and sunshine Coast Recreation Centres.
Our focus:Responsible for the management of five owned and operated Precincts and Venues including delivery and operations of the precincts/venues to ensure quality experiences, inspire Queenslanders to achieve a range of health and social outcomes as a result of participation in sufficient levels of physical activity in a safe and inclusive environment.
To be eligible for employment to this role you must possess:
- Citizenship/Visa Requirements You must be an Australian citizen, have permanent residency status or a visa permitting you to work in Australia. If you are not an Australian citizen you will need to provide evidence of your residency status or visa, with your right to work (including any conditions / restrictions). You are required to notify the department if your right to work in Australia ceases.
- Licences The occupant of this role is required to hold a C Class driver's licence. You will be required to provide a copy of your driver's licence prior to engagement.
