About The Position
Palm Beach Café is seeking a dynamic and experienced Cafe Manager to lead our vibrant beachfront team in Rockingham. The ideal candidate will bring exceptional leadership skills, a deep understanding of cafe operations, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer experiences.As our Cafe Manager, you'll be responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing staff, ensuring high-quality service, and maintaining our reputation as a premier coastal dining destination. We're looking for a motivated hospitality professional who can inspire our team, uphold our commitment to quality Australian cuisine, and create a welcoming atmosphere that captures the relaxed spirit of our oceanfront location.
Reporting ToThis role reports directly to Owner. Working week: 40 Hrs
The typical job responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Plan and coordinate daily cafe operations, developing strategic approaches to ensure smooth and efficient restaurant management
- Analyse and report on cafe performance, identifying opportunities for improvement and growth
- Manage brand reputation through marketing initiatives, community engagement, and promotional activities
- Resolve customer complaints and challenges professionally, maintaining high standards of service
- Train and develop staff in customer service, operational procedures, and professional conduct
- Develop and maintain a positive workplace culture that promotes team collaboration, motivation, and professional growth
- Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with key suppliers, negotiating favourable terms and ensuring consistent quality and timely delivery of goods and services
- Create and implement customer service strategies to enhance dining experience and address customer feedback
- Implement technology and systems to streamline cafe operations and improve overall efficiency
- Manage and supervise staff comprehensively, including recruitment, training, performance evaluation, and shift organisation
- Oversee food and beverage preparation to ensure exceptional quality and customer satisfaction, maintaining high standards of presentation and service
- Monitor and manage inventory levels, ordering supplies and kitchen essentials to maintain optimal stock and operational efficiency
- Manage financial operations, including budget control, cash handling, financial reporting, and
- implementing cost-effective strategies
- Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, and food hygiene regulations, implementing comprehensive safety protocols
- Continuously monitor industry trends and innovations, adapting cafe offerings and operational strategies to meet changing customer preferences and market demands
Applicants must meet the following minimum requirements to be considered for the role:
- A relevant Diploma Degree
- A minimum of 1 years of relevant experience
- Strong leadership abilities with experience in staff supervision and team management
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to handle customer feedback professionally
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and hygiene standards
- Proficient in restaurant point-of-sale (POS) systems and inventory management
- Strong financial acumen including budget management and cost control
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations during peak service periods
- Excellent communication skills to interact with staff, customers, and suppliers
- Experience in staff scheduling and roster management
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety regulations
- Ability to maintain quality control standards for food and beverage service
- Strong problem-solving skills for day-to-day operational challenges
- Experience in training and developing service staff
- Understanding of food and beverage trends and menu planning
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
