Description:

Terra Mare Claremont is an Italian style restaurant in the heart of Claremont’s busy town centre.

The kitchen is looking for a full time cook for 38 hours per week, ideally with experience in making traditional Italian dishes.

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of strong experience as a cook and he/she will be requested to:

• Prepare and cook meals in line with the restaurant's standards
• Prepare and cook meals for special events and additional functions, adjusting the dishes accordingly with the dietary needs of the customers
• Ensure the quality of raw ingredients and foodstuff in general
• Operate in an efficient manner all kitchen equipment including ovens, grills and other cooking equipment regulating temperatures
• Season food whilst cooking
• Portioning and plating dishes adding garnishes and sauces if required
• Preserve and freeze food and ingredients to store
• Maintain and operate the kitchen in a clean, sanitary, and safe manner, including cleaning of the kitchen and kitchen supplies and utensils on a regular basis
• Support the ordering of food and supplies
• Being able to care for food supplies and leftovers appropriately
• Prepare main, entrees, and desserts
• Developing menu suggestions for meal planning
• Proceeding with cleaning and defrosting of the refrigerator on a monthly basis
• Diligently check on store food and supplies are delivered
• Able to maintain a clean and neat appearance in line with the organization's standards
