Target Business Services is recruiting on behalf of MVH Poly Pty Ltd, a leading manufacturer of high-quality polyethylene films based in Dandenong South, Victoria. Specializing in advanced polymer extrusion technologies, MVH Poly delivers innovative and sustainable film solutions for industries including packaging, agriculture, and construction.
As part of the company’s ongoing growth and commitment to operational excellence, we are seeking a skilled and driven Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineer to join their technical team. This role plays a critical part in optimizing manufacturing processes, implementing lean practices, and ensuring quality and safety standards across production operations.
Key Responsibilities:- Design, develop, and improve polymer extrusion and film production systems.
- Monitor and oversee daily production activities to ensure operational efficiency, product quality, and compliance with safety protocols.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase throughput and reduce waste.
- Collaborate with R&D and production teams to develop and refine products and processes.
- Conduct troubleshooting, performance evaluations, and preventative maintenance for extrusion and related manufacturing equipment.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant Australian Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) and environmental standards.
- Drive the adoption of new technologies, automation solutions, and lean manufacturing methodologies.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for manufacturing processes and ensure training materials are up to date for production staff.
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action processes in response to equipment failures, production issues, or quality non-conformances.
- Monitor and analyze production data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends, drive performance improvements, and support strategic decision-making.
- Liaise with suppliers and contractors to ensure the timely procurement and maintenance of machinery, tools, and spare parts critical to production operations.
- Support sustainability and waste reduction initiatives by evaluating and recommending eco-friendly materials, energy-efficient machinery, and environmentally responsible practices in line with corporate goals.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 2 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in polymer extrusion or polyethylene film production.
- Proficient in engineering software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar.
- Strong technical knowledge of extrusion systems, mechanical processes, and manufacturing operations.
- Familiarity with Australian WHS legislation and quality management systems.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on innovation and operational efficiency.
- Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Understanding of automation, robotics, and sustainability in manufacturing is highly desirable.
