The overarching purpose of this position is to be the main point of contact for all of our clients, managing their journey from the point of enquiry right through to the time of their event. It is a sales and customer service role that is about maintaining and growing our private client base and communicating all that Aplenty does.

Aplenty started in 2021 with founder Michaela delivering picnic and pasta boxes to parks and houses during lockdown. Entering our fourth year, we have quickly expanded to the dynamic, contemporary catering and events company we are today. We work on incredible weddings and events, curate menus and experiences for leading Australian and International brands and companies, as well as work with some of the best food and wine producers and businesses, fostering a great community around us.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Sales and Account Manager is responsible for:

Delivering Exceptional Client ManagementActing as the main client contact, guiding them from inquiry to event completion. This includes understanding their vision, providing tailored solutions, and building lasting relationships that drive repeat business.

Driving Sales and Event SuccessPreparing proposals, quotes, and contracts while meeting sales targets through customised packages, boosting corporate sales leads, catering orders, and securing venues. Maintaining detailed records ensures seamless follow-up and client satisfaction.

Facilitating Internal CollaborationEnsuring clear communication with internal teams to translate client needs into actionable plans. Collaborating closely with the Event Operations Manager ensures flawless event execution and upholds Aplenty’s reputation for excellence.

Driving Sales ExcellenceConsistently meeting and exceeding sales targets through a disciplined and strategic approach. You leverage your passion for outstanding events with boosting lead generation, and maximising opportunities across all areas of the business: weddings and private events, corporate sales, catering orders and venue partnerships.

Building Strong RelationshipsDeveloping great relationships with both clients and internal teams. You’ll be trusted and valued for your ability to communicate clearly, collaborate effectively, and adapt to the needs of a dynamic, small-team environment, all while contributing to the growth and leadership of Aplenty.

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

You will be incredibly detail oriented, efficient, time conscious and take joy in helping people realise their visions, through sharing all Aplenty has to offer. It requires someone with drive to achieve results, patience in managing a wide range of enquiries and customer needs, and an ability to think outside the box while also being practical.

You will have experience in events and/or weddings and preferred experience with hospitality. In addition you will be excited by all that Aplenty has to offer, and experience in sales that is driven by a passion of making the best events in the industry.

This position suits a person with drive and ambition to end up in a leadership position in this growing business. This is a dynamic workspace and a small team, so we are looking for someone with a very professional attitude balanced with an appreciation and understanding of small business.CLIENT MANAGEMENT

Serve as the primary point of contact for all email inquiries and phone calls, ensuring clients always feel supported and attended to.
Manage the client journey from start to finish, ensuring all customer needs and expectations are consistently met with precision and care.
Oversee the event sales pipeline by promptly addressing leads on the day they are received and ensuring all client responses are handled within 48 hours.
Set clear expectations with clients regarding when they will hear back, fostering trust and reliability.
Collaborate closely with clients to fully understand their event requirements, preferences, and budget, offering tailored solutions that reflect their vision.
Provide consultative guidance on catering options, event logistics, and any additional services to ensure clients receive a comprehensive and personalised experience.
Ensure all customer inquiry details are meticulously recorded and organised for seamless follow-up and communication.
Resolve any client issues or concerns with professionalism and a focus on maintaining long-term relationships.

Proactively build and expand our private client base, nurturing lasting relationships that drive repeat business

SALES & ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT

Add maximum value to our clients' events by offering Aplenty’s wide range of products and services, ensuring each event is exceptional.
Prepare proposals, quotes, contracts, and all necessary collateral once a client has booked, ensuring clarity and transparency at every stage.
Execute sales strategies with precision, demonstrating a deep understanding of our catering offerings and how they meet client needs.
Customise catering packages to align with client preferences, maintaining a focus on both client satisfaction and business growth.

Meet and exceed sales targets through a disciplined, strategic approach, consistently contributing to Aplenty’s success.

INTERNAL COMMUNICATION

Maintain open, transparent communication channels with clients, ensuring they always feel informed and valued.
Collaborate closely with the Event Operations Manager to translate client requests into actionable plans that ensure flawless event execution.
Facilitate a harmonious flow of information between clients and internal teams, ensuring everyone is aligned and prepared.

Partner with the Event Operations Manager to ensure events are executed to the highest standards, reflecting the quality promised during the sales process.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS REQUIRED
  1. 3 years of experience in Events and or/Weddings

Hospitality background preferred

Proven track record in sales and client coordination, preferably in the catering or events industry.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Experience with CRM systems and quoting software
Experience with with excel, databases, budgets, creating decks and presentations
Experience with Salesforce, Square, Squarespace and G-Drive preferred

Be able to show meticulous systems of inbox management, document management, fast computer skills
