Mechanical Engineering Technician

Australian Garnet Pty Ltd, a subsidiary of Resource Development Group Limited (ASX:RDG), supply premium garnet abrasives to the protective coating and waterjet cutting industries from our world class operation in Western Australia.

With the recent commencement of our owner operated Garnet mine, located in the picturesque Lucky Bay area of Kalbarri Western Australia, we are looking to employ competent and experienced Mechanical Engineering Technician in a permanent position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain assigned equipment and perform daily inspections to ensure compliance with operational and safety requirements.
• Assembles and installs new and modified mechanical assemblies and components.
• Organises, supervises and when required participates in inspection and maintenance of machines and plant.
• Estimates material costs and quantities, and machine requirements
• Performs field and laboratory tests on equipment.
• Collects and analyses operational and maintenance data, carries out complex computations and prepares diagrams.
• Ensures that designs and finished work are within specifications, regulations and contract provisions.
• Follow all reasonable written or verbal instructions.
• Use correct manual handling techniques.
• Wear/use and maintain/care for personal protective clothing and/or equipment.
• Perform all works to the highest standard.
• Communicate appropriately with all persons including supervision, management, co-workers, clients & visitors.
• Comply with all site safety requirements.
• Report any safety hazards immediately to your Supervisor, remove the hazards if it is safe to do so or make the area safe if it is not (i.e. barricading, signage etc.);
• Complete Take 5s and Hazops daily and hand in to the Safety Advisor each day.

Requirements:

• A relevant degree or qualification
• Minimum 3 years post graduate work experience.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to work safely; &
• Ability to work with organizational values.

Salary: $120,000 - $135,0000 a year (commensurate to skills and experience)
