About the Role
The Senior Consultant - Business Analysis is a senior role who is responsible for acting as the pivot or intermediary between end-users and technology to ensure that business/user requirements are delivered in technology solutions. The Consulting Business Analyst will work in liaison to provide commercial decision-making support and company analyses within the industry and documenting requirements, formulating reports and recommendations.This role involves assisting in the planning and execution of the strategic business plan and evaluating new business opportunities across various business units. The Consulting Business Analyst will have in-depth knowledge of Digital technology, the Software Development Lifecycle and Agile ways of working.
What you’ll do:
Workshop Facilitation & Requirements Gathering:
- Support large-scale workshops and independently lead mid-to-small scale workshops to extract business requirements.
- Engage with stakeholders to identify pain points, opportunities, and business needs, ensuring a clear understanding of objectives.
- Utilise the latest technology and tools to create and maintain a well-structured requirements backlog.
Solution Development & Implementation Support:
- Lead a cross-functional team, ensuring alignment between business goals and technical solutions.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to understand challenges, analyse opportunities, and propose optimal solutions.
- Support the end-to-end discovery process through to implementation, ensuring successful project execution.
Pipeline Generation & Business Growth:
- Contribute to pipeline generation by identifying and surfacing potential business opportunities.
- Assist with leading bids and ensuring a winning response that meets/exceeds the customer ask is sent to the customer.
- Assist in driving business growth through analysis, insights, and collaboration with senior stakeholders.
- Support the lead consultant in project execution, stakeholder engagement, and solution development.
Communication & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Exhibit strong communication skills, effectively articulating insights, solutions, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Develop and deliver sleek, impactful presentations for customers and internal stakeholders.
- Facilitate collaboration between business teams, technical teams, and leadership to ensure smooth project execution.
Continuous Improvement & Best Practices:
- Stay up to date with industry trends, business analysis methodologies, and emerging technologies.
- Drive continuous improvement in business analysis processes, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in project delivery.
- Mentor and provide guidance to other team members, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and professional growth.
Health & Safety Compliance:
- Promote a principle-driven health and safety culture, ensuring compliance with Datacom company policies.
- Take reasonable care to prevent harm to self and others, reporting incidents, hazards, or unsafe work practices.
Skills & Qualifications:
- 5+ years’ experience in an IT related field.
- Multiple years of proven Business Analyst experience, including a wide range of analysis practices and toolsets.
- 2+ years’ experience in a business environment.
- Project or service delivery management experience.
- Ability to work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
- Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation for obtaining results.
- Establishes and assures adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements.
- Ability to frequently interact and network with a variety of stakeholders
Essential:
- Understanding of the current Business Operations processes and procedures.
- Strong understanding of all aspects of the systems / software development lifecycle.
- Technical knowledge of programming, system design, IT infrastructure and database concepts.
- An appreciation of both IT and business strategy.
- Knowledge of business process re- engineering and analytical frameworks.
- Strong financial management practices with a clear understanding of the relationship between costs, utilisation and project revenue.
- Strong business acumen.
