The company is seeking a skilled and experienced Production Manager to take charge of its manufacturing operations. The Production Manager at Vannella Cheese plays a critical role in driving the efficiency, quality, and scalability of our cheese production operations.This leadership position encompasses a range of strategic and operational responsibilities, ensuring that production aligns with market demands and maintains the high standards that Vannella Cheese is known for.
Key responsibilities include:- Continuously develop and optimize production strategies to scale operations in alignment with the sales performance of major cheese products.
- Ensure production output meets the required quality and quantity while balancing costs, labour, and time constraints in response to fluctuating market demands.
- Manage and maintain production schedules, coordinate operational hours, and ensure efficient resource allocation.
- Monitor production output and associated costs to ensure operational efficiency and profitability.
- Collaborate with other departments and managers to maintain clear, seamless communication on production matters, fostering alignment across the business.
- Conduct regular inspections of machinery and leading the maintenance and installation of new equipment to ensure uninterrupted production.
- Lead research into new production methods, implement process improvements, and recommend innovative initiatives to drive production efficiency.
- Manage the preparation and maintenance of production records and reports to ensure accurate performance tracking and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure a safe working environment by overseeing the implementation of industry-standard occupational health and safety regulations.
- Lead, mentor, and oversee production staff, ensuring their performance aligns with business objectives and encouraging professional growth.
- At least a bachelor's degree in the relevant sector
- Have at least 3 years of work experience in a similar industry
- Understanding of food manufacturing or dairy industry, preferably cheese production processes.
- Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety (WHS) and HACCP.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Be willing to relocate if you are interstate or in other cities.
